I’m Risa. a certified native Japanese teacher base in Tokyo🗼

My lessons focus on communication and are designed to be a "safe space" where you can make as many mistakes as you need! I want to help you become comfortable speaking Japanese naturally, and also make our lessons something you genuinely look forward to as part of your daily life.

Hobby/Interest

Learning languages:
I speak English and Thai, and a bit of Indonesian.

Travelling:
I enjoy exploring new places and have visited 🇹🇭🇸🇬🇺🇸🇹🇼🇰🇷🇻🇳🇮🇩🇬🇧🇲🇾🇮🇹🇵🇱🇨🇿🇦🇹🇸🇰🇭🇺! I also love trying different local cuisines and hot springs all over Japan.

Cooking:
I enjoy cooking healthy Japanese food at home.

Background

With a background in marketing and international business development, I’ve spent several years living abroad in Thailand and Singapore.

After passing the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test, I began my journey as a teacher with the goal of helping you open new doors through the Japanese language.

Teaching Japanese

I specialize in conversation-focused lessons, so it’s completely fine if you don’t have a textbook. (We can also use one if you prefer.)

For beginner to intermediate learners, we’ll build your vocabulary and grammar through conversation and role-play practice. For advanced learners, we’ll explore a wide range of topics while working on more natural expressions, nuanced wording, and advanced vocabulary and phrases

I speak English, so comlete beginners are very welcome,too.
